i finally made it to the de young yesterday to see the gee's bend and the ruth asawa exhibits. I have to say, I think these might be the finest 2 shows that I've seen in a really long time. i especially loved asawa's drawings (photo of one from the show below). hurry hurry if you're in the neighborhood. the quilts depart on the 31st but the asaswa show is around through jan. 28th.

i loved the ruth asawa exhibit so much too. i saw it over the holidays, and i've been waiting to post about it on my blog because i bought the book, but mailed it back to brooklyn and haven't gotten it yet. i agree, her drawings were the most inspiring!
