i went to the de young a while back to catch the gee's bend and ruth asawa exhibits. the gee's bend catalogue was sold out and for some silly reason i didn't buy the asawa catalogue. thank god for amazon cause these are two of the best books i've bought in years. both are beautifully layed out and the quality is fantastic. well worth the money and the wait...check out lena's blog for some more photos.

I absolutely LOVED Ruth Asawa at the DeYoung. Her pieces were gorgeously lit.
i agree...i was really impressed by the lighting too. the shadows were as beautiful as her sculptures.
i concur - the pieces were great & the shadows they made were a gorgeous bonus!
